More than 70% of the world's toys are produced in China

China is the world's largest toy producer and exporter, and more than 70% of the toys in the global market are produced in China.

From 2016 to 2021, China's toy exports achieved five consecutive years of growth. In the first eight months of 2022, China's toy exports totaled US$31.68 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.02%.

Chenghai District, Shantou, Guangdong is known as the toy capital of China. The toys produced here have been sold to more than 150 countries and regions around the world.Yang Yusheng, deputy general manager of the supply chain of a toy company in Shantou: In the first half of this year, our export volume reached 740 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of more than 20%.

Shenzhen Yantian Port is an important hub port for China's toy export, and it is also the largest single container port in the world. Here, domestic toys are transported to major global trade channels such as Europe and America through 89 foreign trade routes. On the docking berth, there are neatly arranged colorful containers on one side. In addition, the loading work is also going on intensively, working 24 hours a day.

Sea freight has always been the most important mode of transportation for toy foreign trade enterprises in the Pearl River Delta region due to its advantages of large volume and suitability for long-distance transportation. According to the data provided by Shenzhen Customs, the Shenzhen Port international liner routes reach more than 100 countries and regions and more than 300 ports around the world. In order to cope with the peak export season, the customs are speeding up the efficiency of customs clearance and inspection.

After loading, the ship loaded with toys made in China was launched and set sail. According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, from January to August this year, the cumulative export value of Chinese toys was 31.6779 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 20.2%. In terms of export regions, the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom are still the main exporters of Chinese toys.
